Super Llama: Llamas are awesome! (14)
Hey, guys! Momocon was fun. Double Rainboom is going to be amazing. March 30th. Set your calendars! And that is all I have to say about that. Nearly as exciting, Parasprite Panic! has updated, and this event coincides with another: I have released the VASSAL module for that very same game! So... uh, what does that even mean? Hold onto your hats, I'm about to explain everything! VASSAL is a free program that takes those tabletop board games of yore and pulls them kicking and screaming into the digital realm. Instead of manipulating actual cardboard, you click and drag digital representations of the same. PROS: you get to play great board gam

Some recent developments: By popular demand, I have posted the full-size game board in PNG format. The previous version was stitched together from six panels, and is intended for home printers. This is more appropriate for large-format printers. A couple of people are sort-of familiar with VASSAL, but no professionals have stepped forward. So I will be working on that myself. For those who don't know, VASSAL is a virtual board game emulator. It represents physical components in virtual space, using a drag-and-drop mouse interface. Online play is also supported! So if you are curious about Parasprite Panic! but not crafty enough to print and

On February 13th, Parasprite Panic!, the greatest and perhaps only original MLP:FiM game was featured on Equestria Daily! I feel honored, although truthfully maybe I thought it would be more of a challenge? I mean, I just sent them an email, and *poof!*, there it is on the site minutes later! Thanks Calpain, you're the best! Whew, what a rush! Now, for the embarrassing truth... Parasprite Panic! is thoroughly playtested. Don't worry about that. HOWEVER, I should have hired an editor, because there are many large and small errors in the rules, and one glaring omission in the components. This stuff is hard, guys! But fortunately, you people o

What did you use for the background of the villager pieces? I'd like to use photoshop and replace a few with my own favorites, but I want the backgrounds all to match.
I got my Parasprite Panic! board all complete and ready for game night with my buddies. Have a look!

Hey, that looks great! Let me know how it goes! Those figures look different - Crystal Empire, I presume?
Oh, after playing the game, I was wondering about a clarification on the rules for Hives:

If Fluttershy is standing on (or next to) a Hive, and the Parasprite Action targets a hive (which is then canceled by Fluttershy's ability), do you still take the extra Parasprite Action triggered by targeting a Hive? We ruled yes in the game we played, since we could put Fluttershy in one space and never hit the Hives, but I was wondering your take on it.
Fluttershy's ability does not affect Hives at all. So you would not place a Parasprite, but you would roll again. Similarly, if you roll onto a Hive and then onto Fluttershy's space (and no Hive), you would add the Hive as usual but would NOT place a Parasprite.
Yeah, it was the "Pony Rainbow Collection" -- the Mane Six plus a stallion named "Emerald Ray" and some metallic stickers. (Target exclusive product, according to the box.)

I went to two Super Targets, a Walmart, and a Toys 'R Us trying to find the regular ones, but the Walmart and the Toys 'R Us didn't have ANY (and the lady at Guest Services at Toys 'R Us said they didn't even have any in the warehouse!), and the two Targets only had the blue blind bags, which are the ones with the glittery Crystal Empire models. So I just grabbed the rainbow, since it's the same figures as the blue blind bags, and easier than comparing the numbers on the back of the bag to get the Mane Six. Also, it was only $14 instead of $24 for buying 6 blind bags.
